No! Most classes are designed for beginners unless otherwise noted. Placement recommendations are available if you are unsure which level is the best fit. If you are unsure and need guidance, please email me at asllearninglab@gmail.com

Please reach out before class begins. I am happy to discuss accommodations and determine how we can best support your child’s learning experience.
Due to classroom space limitations, we ask parents to remain onsite outside of the classroom or return at pickup time. Some accommodations can be made if needed. Please see our classroom policy for more information.

Class announcements, assignments, and materials will be posted online when available. For high level courses, it the responsibility of the student to watch a lesson video (if available) and complete HW during the week. Each class builds on top of the next so it is importnat they remain caught up to the best of their ability.

Homework is designed to reinforce learning and provide additional practice at home. Assignments are generally brief and age-appropriate. Some classes, assignments are optional. ASL Level 2 and 3, homework is a requirement.
Some classes include quizzes, projects, participation activities, or informal assessments to help track progress and reinforce learning.

Some classes include grading through assignments, participation, quizzes, and attendance.
Intro to ASL (ages 6–10) does not use a formal grading system. Students may still receive optional practice videos and at-home activities to reinforce learning, but these are intended for enrichment and are not graded.
ASL Levels 1, 2, and 3 will receive grades throughout the year. As a homeschool family, you are not required to use or record these grades if you prefer not to assign official grades for your student. However, I will continue tracking student progress and maintaining grade records on my end should you choose to use them for report cards, transcripts, portfolios, or other documentation purposes.
My goal is to provide families with flexibility while still offering meaningful feedback and progress tracking throughout the year.

Classes are intentionally kept small to allow for interaction, participation, and individualized attention. I typically do not take more than 15 students.

Late enrollment may be possible depending on class availability and student skill level. Please contact me to discuss options and determine whether a class would be a good fit.
Please note that students enrolling later in the school year, particularly during the spring term, may be joining after foundational concepts and basic vocabulary have already been introduced. While new students are always welcome, class instruction will continue at the current pace, and it may not be possible for the instructor to revisit previously taught material during class time. Families joining later in the year should be prepared for students to do some additional review or catch-up practice outside of class as needed.

Our tutition includes a 1hr class every week starting in Spetember (with breaks mixed in). You will also receive a wide range of practice videos, materials, and assignments for your child to practice at home. Tuition costs are $400/term. We have two terms. You may decide you only want to complete the first term or you may decide you would like to continue their learning and join back with us in the Spring (Jan-April).

Yes! I also offer an online, self paced version for ASL Level 1 and 2. The cost for the entire year's course is $600. You will receive several materials, learning lesson videos, quizzes, assignments and instructor feedback during this course. You will have access to this course from Spetemeber 7th-May 31st. Your child can work independently at their own pace, working through the modules.
