Thou Art a Vessel

Thou Art a Vessel is a newly formed ensemble of international musicians, who meet in Copenhagen to create a sanctuary to share music with one another and with members of the public.

Members of this ensemble are rooted in variety of musical heritages, making this project rich with influences, and not tying the music to a particular genre. What binds together what the Ensemble do is a sensitive search for the Sacred tied with a constant striving for authenticity, curiosity and presence.

The Ensemble first appeared in 2018 during a two day residency in Koncertkirken, Copenhagen.

This concert included sacred music from 12th Century Armenia, medieval chants, a Danish premiere of a work by American minimalist composer David Lang, hypnotic improvisations, as well as three pieces written by ensemble leader Nick Martin.

Thou Art a Vessel releases debut LP in May 2018.
