Many people know the Mississippi River flows into the Gulf of Mexico, but people don't think about all the smaller rivers that flow into the Mississippi. High levels of pollution in one of those effects all the creatures and ecosystems downstream of it. This is why it's so important for us to regulate pollution into our waterways, it has a ripple effect (literally!).
