the survival of literature is a function of power and resources, not artistic worth. A poet who makes 20 copies of a book has just as much a right to be remembered as a poet who makes 20,000 copies of a book, the only difference is that the 20-copy poet faces near-extinction (meaning to vanish from the literary canon) from the beginning.
