What is a Ministry Center?
Think of The Well House Ministry Center like a Christian Community Center or a Christian Venue. It's a hub for various ministries and groups to meet, worship and fellowship. It's multi-demoninational and there is no membership or expectation for those who visit, learn or worship there. It's also a bridge for those who are looking to establish or reestablish their faith walk.
Where are you located?
Our physical address is 5488 Main Street, Stephens City, VA. Some directions also say Rt. 11. It's a white church building with black trim.
What should I wear to Worship Services?
Please wear whatever is comfortable to you, however you will see people wearing a variety of clothing from t-shirts & jeans, slacks to skirts, and dresses and suits and ties.
What should I wear to Growth and Learning Opportunities?
Please wear whatever you're comfortable in. Casual attired is just fine for Growth & Learning Opportunities, but you'll probably see people wearing a variety of clothing.
What should I bring?
If you're coming for a Bible related class, you can bring a Bible if you have one or you may borrow a Bible at the Center or using the Bible app on your personal device is fine as well. A notebook may be helpful if you like to take notes, as well as something to write with and a highlighter if you choose. If you're coming for any other classes, materials will be provided for you.
Where should I park?
Feel free to park on the grassy lot next to the church, or on Main Street in front of the church. Please be considerate of others as you park so we have room for everyone.
How many people will be there?
We just opened on October 1, 2022, so we will probably be small in number. We are still getting the word out and letting people know who and where we are and what we're doing, so we will see how we grow. However, our sanctuary can seat about 65 comfortably, and our downstairs learning space can seat up to 12 people and our upstairs learning space can seat up to 25 people.
Where should I enter the building for Worship Services?
The entrance that faces Main Street that provides steps and an accessibility ramp. Please note, there is no foyer, so when you open the door, you will immediately come into the back of the sanctuary. Find a seat where you are comfortable.
Where should I enter the building for a class or group session?
Classes and groups will meet where they make the most sense for the number of attendees and the purpose of the gathering. Because of this, you may be directed to enter through the side entrance for your particular gathering but the front entrance, that faces Main Street, provides steps and an accessibility ramp, is always acceptable. Please note, there is no foyer, so when you open the door, you will immediately come into the back of the sanctuary.
How long are your Worship Services?
You can expect our Worship Services to be about an hour. However, the Holy Spirit is in control. If at anytime you need to leave before the service is over, simply leave quietly, using the door at the back of the sanctuary.
How long are your growth and learning opportunity sessions?
You can expect our classes/groups to be about an hour. However, the Holy Spirit is in control and sometimes people will have questions, or need special prayer. If at anytime you need to leave before the class/group is over, simply leave quietly using the closest door to your class.
Do you have Worship Services every Sunday morning?
We are currently offering Sunday morning Worship & Word Services at 9am on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the calendar month. (See our Calendar for exact dates.) The Well House is not a church in the "traditional" sense but as a Ministry Center, we're offering this option for those who desire a time of Sunday Worship but don't currently have a church home or a place where they are attending.
When do you serve Communion?
We offer Holy Communion during the 9am Word & Worship Service on the 1st Sunday of each calendar month.
How is Communion served?
We use prepackaged juice and wafter sets that you will be served at the appropriate time during the service.
Do I have to participate in Communion?
Holy Communion is never mandatory. You may observe Holy Communion when you are ready and have the understanding you feel you need to share in this time.
Am I expected to give a monetary offering?
Giving Opportunities will be available at each worship service and learning opportunity and you can also give digitally on our Giving Page at any time, however, you should never feel obligated. Your attendance or participation is never contingent on your giving. *If you are a member of a church, your tithes should belong to your home church. But feel free to give an offering as you are led.
Will I be asked or invited to "join the church" when I attend?
The Well House is not a church in the "traditional" sense so Worship Services are open to anyone who has a desire for a time of Sunday Worship, especially if you don't currently have a church home or a place where you are attending.
Do I have to be a "member" to attend the growth and learning opportunities?
The Well House is not a church in the "traditional" sense. It is a Ministry Center so growth and learning opportunities are open to anyone who has a desire to grow, learn, or gather together, even if you are already a member of a church, but especially if you don't currently have a church home or a place where you are attending.
When will more learning opportunities be offered?
We are preparing to offer various growth and learning opportunities as God leads. We have various ministers who will be sharing with us and teaching as well. Again, our vision is to create new experiences that aren't based on Church membership but simply a desire to grow and nurture a relationship with the Lord.
