Roads and airplanes are so 20th century.

Using Evacuated Tube Transport (ETT) technology, you will be able to get from NYC to Paris in under an hour (roughly 3000 MPH). It will be much faster to take a sub-oceanic Tube around North America to the west coast or Asia than flying.

Buoyancy neutral segments will be connected by drones that attach onto the segment and "swim" it to the end of the tube line. After connecting the segment and pumping out that water, the drone "swimmers" return for a recharge and repeat the process. Ocean currents will provide power.

We'll start with new terminals at airports already situated on or close to the coast, like JFK, Logan, Lisbon, Dublin, etc. Support infrastructure, like parking, already exists.

Venture Ride will be like calling an Uber, except the Uber is a drone that:

1. arrives quickly, 

2. lowers the cab

3. you get in, 

4. it raises the cab, 

5. it flies you to your destination. 

You get there faster, safer, cheaper.

Precise vehicular positioning will be achieved by combining GPS with ground-based triangulation. Home Depot will carry transponders you can mount on the side of your house. The Air Traffic Control will be a specially developed AI-driven model supporting drone swarm enablement. The drones will operate autonomously.

Most flights will be "as the crow flies". No traffic lights. The airspace will be broken up into "layers" from slow to fast-- just like we go from slow to fast in our cars. Our driveway is slow, then 25MPH, then 35, 45 and 70MPH on the highway. 

The "slow lane", or altitude, will be, say, 500' and below. The equivalent of a 25MPH speed zone will be, say, between 500-2000'. Faster speeds between 2000-4000'; Highway speeds above 5000'.
