Even more shocking are the wings sprouting from Alhaitham’s back, apparently developed as a result of his upbringing. Fascinated by the man, Kaveh devotes himself and his research to him, studying his every move and hiding him from his father while Alhaitham seems content to simply listen to his questions (and read all his books.)

After weeks of letting the physical wounds heal, the mental scars remain and only seem to fester as he catches others tucking in their own wings whilst casting pitying glances at him as he walks through the streets of Sumeru City. This all changes when he catches a glimpse of his partner for life, Alhaitham, flying gracefully one evening while on a walk. His heart breaks as he is overcome with the urge to fly with him once again. The robotic sounds of his briefcase Mehrak breaks him from his trance and sparks a new idea in his grieving mind. With his intelligence and inventing capabilities, Kaveh decides to build his own wings in hopes of flying alongside his lover once again, but what happens when he rushes his first test run? Will his lover be ever-present in his story or is Kaveh destined to fall as Icarus did?
  
  TLDR: Kaveh loses his wings in tragic accident while studying ancient architecture, and after dealing with the emotional ramifications of this, he decides to design and build his own set of wings. After a misunderstanding with Alhaitham (Alhaitham trying to comfort him.), Kaveh rushes his first test run of his wings.

But when he finds an injured creature- a baby griffin, exceptionally rare- he might just find that being different isn't such a bad thing.

  Aventurine had learned at a young age to hide his wings. Not that Avgins had a class where they were taught how to hide their wings before they were cruelly wiped off the face of the Sigonia-IV. His wings showed others how "exotic" he was. Exotic. The word left a horrible taste in his mouth. It was a word used by people that planned to exploit him, and since his wings were one of his defining features, as soon as he was able to, he began to hid them. As a result, he never bothered to learn how to take care of them. It wasn't until he came face to face with Veritas Ratio that he understood the fascination with wings that others seemed to have. Aventurine admires the well-kept wings of Dr. Ratio for a time until twist of fate leads to Dr. Ratio discovering his secret. Can he wear his wings with pride like the good doctor himself? Or is the damage already done?

TLDR: Aventurine's wings are in disarray after years without proper preening and keeping them wrapped up and hidden from others whenever possible. Ratio finds out and as the only other person with wings, volunteers to preen his wings for him. During this process, as Aventurine let's his guard down, things get a little bit steamy but oh so soft.

Accompanying Aventurine on his cross-country road trip and finding the landmarks sung about in the songs his mother used to sing to him could easily be an entire thesis project itself. He just wasn't expecting to... enjoy it.
