An Interview about Empanadas

Q: What´s your favorite Galcian food? Why?
A: My favorite is empanada de zamburinas (scallops) because of its texture, flavor, and that it can be made with local ingredients.

Q: Do you have any person in your family related to any of our dishes?
A: Yes, my grandfather was a fisherman.

Q: What do you think is the best restaurant that serves this type of food?
A: I think it is Casa Marvel in A Pobra do Caramiñal.

Q: Do you know any recipes of Galician dishes?
A: My grandma taught me how to make empanadillas.

Q: On a scale of 0 to 10, how would you rate Galicia´s food on a national level? What about European?
A: 9 on a national level and 7 at a European level.

Q: Do you prefer seafood or meat?
A: I prefer meat. The tourists think that Galicians prefer seafood because we have it more near, but we are people and we have opinions.

Q: What is your favorite Galician dish?
A: Meat empanada because it is a food that you can eat all the days and it is so personal to the Galicians.

Q; What is your favorite Carnival dessert?
A: It is a difficult decision because the filloas and the orejas are so delicious, but I think the orejas win.

Q: Do you usually cook any Galician food?
A: Not usually, but I enjoy cooking orejas during Carnival.

Q: What is your favorite part of Caldo? (A famous Galician stew)
A: The lacon, but I like all the Caldo.
