Our program is called S.N.A.C.K. Our goals are to reach all of the schools in our district, spreading awareness of this need and helping to make it less of a major issue.
PARTNERSHIPS:
We are teaming with SoWashCo CARES to make this program achievable.
SoWashCo CARES is a fiscally sponsored project of the South Washington County Schools Education Foundation.
The goal of SoWashCo CARES is to encourage and support community, to give help and get help, in their local community.
After piloting the program at three schools, we're now up to fourteen schools as collection sites for this school year.

Woodbury City employees generously donated snacks and money to the S.N.A.C.K. cause during their Summer 2021, 2022 and 2023 Food Drives. With these generous donations, we were able to get schools stocked up for the start of the school year with healthy snacks for students in our district. Thanks!
The Cottage Grove Lions Club has generously donated money to the S.N.A.C.K. multiple times for us to be able to go out and purchase snacks for our program. We look forward to partnering with you more in the future! Thanks to our connection to the Cottage Grove Lions Club, we were connected to the Cottage Grove Hy-Vee Manager (see below). The Cottage Grove Lions Club had us back at their June 2022 meeting to hear all about the good work we've been doing since we spoke to them last and they gave us a generous donation to help with snack purchases for the 2022-2023 school year. Thank you!
Members of the Woodbury Lions Club generously opened their wallets and donated to our S.N.A.C.K. program. They also had us back in the Spring of 2022 to learn more about our program, help pack some snack bags and donate funds to help purchase more snacks. Thanks!
The St. Paul Park Lions Club also generously donated money to the S.N.A.C.K. cause in March 2019 for our troop to be able to go out and purchase snacks for our program. Thank you!
The Myers-Thrivent group packed snack bags this summer - with 5 different nut-free snacks in a bag - to help kick off our 2021-2022 school year by providing district students with a week's worth of healthy snacks per bag. Thank you!
Hy-Vee partnered with us on a fundraiser for the S.N.A.C.K. Program. In the spring of 2018, the Cottage Grove Hy-Vee sold "S.N.A.C.K. Sacks" for $5 that provided 10 snacks to students in need. Our troop worked with Amy (Assistant Manager) and Kelly (Registered Dietician) from Hy-Vee to plan for and pack 300 "S.N.A.C.K. Sacks". This was a great way for the community to help our cause! Thanks, Hy-Vee!
After speaking at a Cottage Grove Lions Club meeting, two members of the Lions Club approached Thrivent Financial about our SNACK program, and Thrivent's Action Teams approved the request and generously donated a debit card to our cause. On February 26, we went shopping and were able to purchase 910 individual snack items that were bagged up and delivered to our district schools. Thank you! They are also kick starting our 2020-2021 school year with a donation for snacks. Thank you, again!
Cub Foods has provided us with cardboard tote boxes, found in the main offices of each of the schools, where families can place donations. They also provided a gift card to purchase some snacks to kick start our cause.
CHE, LLC, a bookkeeping and property management company in the Twin Cities, helps us with copies, as needed.
