The Arkasios Spring Series is a projectile weapons platform that aims to redefine what the term ‘crossbow’ is. Instead of using the normal string and limb system, the Arkasios Spring System, known by its platform acronym as the ARX (from the simplified version of ARKS), uses a set of long and powerful springs, made with the finest Porthosian Steel, to give the most flexibility and strength than any other limb from a crossbow. Not to mention, the West Arkasios Trading Company aims to make this weapon platform as the most compact weapon system since the creation of the VAC Series of crossbows. Here are the models currently used by the Arkasian Security Forces.
The Lanza is a heavy single bolt carry crossbow that is known as the most powerful Arcbow in the world. With a powerful 600 meter range, this bow also houses one of the most powerful bolts in order to deal maximum damage, capable of denting Dwarven Steel at less than 200 meters - the first of its kind to do such a feat.
To compensate for this powerful feat, The magazine for the bolts have been removed to ensure more stability and more reliability to prevent jamming, and to ensure that each bolt successfully flies within range.
A common problem that users of the VAC platform usually include is jamming from time to time, especially with their Arbalest variant. By taking out the magazine as a whole, we have made sure to prioritize reliability rather than reload time, as we believe that our range and accuracy would easily overcome such drawbacks.
To use such a weapon, the variant uses a lever mechanism to cock the arcbow without the use of a manual crank attachment, incredibly reducing the loading time from 15 seconds, to 12-6 seconds depending on the user's skill, compared to conventional Selyrian Crossbows.
The Rodriguez variant is a forward lever-action arcbow designed to be compact, quick, and very reliable in the battlefield. Parts of it can be easily disassembled for easier maintenance, and modulation. And unlike the VAC system, they can easily be fitted in small containers for easier logistics. Fitted with a wooden handle to make it more lightweight, the Rodriguez arcbow is set to revolutionize Assault Crossbows.
Reload speed is about 4 seconds - a small margin compared to the VAC-M2’s 2 second loading time. However, their range is what matters as compared to the VAC-M2, they can actually have a max range of 500 meters, compared to the VAC - M2’s 400 meters.
