Large, bloated, and heavy. Ogres are a creature known for their wrinkly skin, and drool. Their skin is evolved for hotter temperatures. They can often be found in The Ogroid Highlands, Sicarius, and Ibernus. There are also some remnants in Shiniya, but these are extremely few.
The bodies of ogres are designed particularly for the desert, where food is scarce, and energy storage is needed. Unlike most animals that have high metabolism, ogres evolved to have a slower metabolism to store food for longer. They also have very wrinkly skin to trap moisture, as well as their mouths that can drool a lot, as they need to pant, which also helps regulate body temperature.
There is a well known phenomena for ogres where they develop mushrooms on their bodies, since they often do not bathe. They instead rely on mud baths to clean their body and regulate body temperature.
In Caedia for example, Ogres there domesticate birds to pick apart insects and mushrooms that grow on their body. In the Kingdom of Sicarius however, this is done by their slaves - who are oftentimes humans or goblins.
Humans describe Ogres to be have a very foul odor. As Karthusian scientists thought this first as a harmful stereotype, recent findings show that this is due to their body's design. Their noses even have a better filter compared to humans, allowing them to live with such a smell. This odor is designed to mimic the smell of a rotting corpse, which may have allowed ogres to grab scavenger animals, or even humans, to then attack and eat them.
The Ogroida people are the most common Ogre Ethnicity found in Selyria. They live, based on their name, primarily in the Ogroid Highlands. While some tribes are known to be less aggressive, such as the followers of Kalsinika, and Sicarian citizens, most tribes hunt anyone for food.
The Orugai people are an ethnicity of ogres that are found in the north of Sicarius, near the mountain pass at the border of Doshgolobi and Sicarius. Often considered as one of the richer peoples, they are sometimes mistaken as orcs due to their tusks.
The Nephilim are often found in Caedia, and are known to be the 'skinniest' ogres. They are known for thir hair neck and back.
Most Nephilim are found in the Caedian coasts, but are known to have tribes in the south as well, where the river and the endless desert meet.
This is a slur that intentionally misrepresents ogre mudbaths as bathing in fecal matter. It also doesnot help that ogres typically smell bad.
This is self-explanatory, and often used by humans, particularly in Karthus and Vontur.
Used by Vonturian Army soldiers during the Great Orc War, this slur was created as a reference to the same dog, and its drooling nature.
This is believed to have originated from an ogre rival tribe, or was used by Caedian local lords to degrade ogres. Since then, Ogres see this slur as a large offense.
