Elves are an uncommon, but one of the more known races in the world of Gaeia. They are scattered around the world, but mostly can be found in northern areas such as Selyria, Shiniya, and the Sentoran part of Duskalia. They are known to be taller than humans, and tend to age more slowly in terms of appearance. Defined by their long and pointy ears, some regard them as more of a pleasant race, although depending on the culture, this may vary.
As the overview suggests, Elves are defined by their pointed ears. They have a similar body to humans where they have similar skin structure, but their cells move slower. This does two things; It helps them age ‘slower’, but this means that if they ever get injured, it takes a longer time for them to recover.
Elves live longer lives than humans on average, but they are skinnier and more susceptible to blood loss if they ever get injured. This is why elven migrations tend to be fragile, and most elven civilizations tend to be in closed areas such as forests, caves, and mountains.
15% of their population tends to be able to have natural access to mana. SUV researchers suspect that this could correlate to the more spiritual culture of the elves, especially the Draseki, but this is yet to be proven.
Elves have a similar brain size compared to humans, and it is suspected that they are more intelligent than them, although this idea seems to be rooted in racist connotations and not founded in science. Other than this, they have a similar sweating function to humans, although it is not as effective, making their stamina not as powerful as humans.
As expected from Gaeians, they have the Gaeian eye, which is pretty average in its perception, but terrible when it is night time.
They also have a very distinct ear structure. Research suggests that this ear structure is more suited to hearing faint sounds in forests, while also functioning as a better way of maintaining balance. Dissections and forensics conclude that the elf ear is one of the biggest reasons as to why elves thrive in forest biomes, as they can easily balance in the treetops and branches. Partner this with their lighter weight, and they create an organism suited to ambush tactics, at least in pre-neolithic times.
The most common elf ethnicity in Selyria, said to have originated from Ravena. They are usually fair-white to light-brown in terms of skin color spreading throughout Drasek, Ravena, Karthus, Hreinngar, Vontur, West Arkasios, Sentora, and Porthos. They have round eyes and thin lips, and will have hair colors ranging from blonde, brown, ginger, and black. Unlike other elves however, only .1% of their population is known to be able to connect to mana.
The Rygviennis are defined by their ears. They have the smallest pointed ears out of all the elven ethnicities. SUV Consciebiologists suggest that this is due to their familiarity with human interbreeding.
The Draseki, as the name suggests, originate from The Kingdom of Drasek, where they are mostly found. They are defined by their white skin, round eyes, and longer ears pointed upwards. Eye color is usually blue or white, and they are often found in Drasek, Ravena, and Karthus.
The High Draseki are a specific sub-ethnicity of elves that are often regarded for their beauty by other elves. They are defined by their pale white hair, white skin, and blue eyes. Often, these people are members of the high class in Drasek, and SUV researchers have yet to determine whether this is due to a cultural or economic reason.
Dark Elves, also known as Sicarian or Feketi Elves, are an ethnicity of people that are commonly found in Sicarius, said to be immigrants of Ibernian elves. They are usually described as having ash black skin, with smaller ears, pale white hair, and eyes ranging from red, purple, and green. SUV scientists still argue today on whether or not to separate the Feketians as their own race, as some research indicates that they may have better night vision due to having a different eye structure than most elves.
So far, they are only known to be found in Sicarius in the Clan of Fekete.
The Yosei are an uncommon tightly knit ethnicity of elves usually found in the forests and mountains of Kononagari. People tend to view them as highly spiritual and elegant. Research from the SUV suggests that an estimated 40% of their population have a connection to mana, although due to their culture, they are forbidden to use such magic, as they believe that this disrupts the balance of nature. They are defined as having the longest upwards pointed ears in the elven ethnicities as well as the typical Shiniyan characteristics such as squinted eyes. Skin color is usually fair-white, eye color ranges in black, or white, while hair color is always black and straight.
They are commonly found in Kononagari and Irtsursk.
The Qian Tiao are an uncommon elven ethnicity commonly found in the mountains of Cho-Seon. SUV researchers suggest that they diverged from the Yosei millions of years ago, and mixed with the Quzm, giving them their distinct perpendicular ears compared to their Selyrian and Northern counterparts.
Aside from their ears, they are usually defined as having fair-white skin, with hair ranging from white, black, or gray, while having eye colors such as yellow, orange, or black. Other than this, they have the typical Shiniyan characteristic of having squinted eyes.
Similar to the Sulharian humans, the Quzm (قزم) are a group of elves that come from Sulhari. They are known as having dark purple skin with a hint of gray. Other SUV researchers believe that this is the original ancestors of the Feketi Elves.
Like all Ibernian Elves, The Quzmi are defined by their perpendicular pointed ears, and white hair, as well as having 20% of their population having access to mana. In Sulhari culture however, they are often used as architects, engineers, sand mages, and more.
The Yumboes are a very mysterious ethnicity, as unlike their fellow Ibernians, they do not have the perpendicular ears. They are also suspected to have a very striking blue color both in their skin and eye color. Not much is known about them, and the only information that the SUV, and the Sulharian scholars have in regards to them is a wanted poster from the Great Beyond. Some say that they are from beyond the Great Desert, but this may be just a myth.
