Vathesh, originally a name of a small group of people who lived amongst the Duskalian people. Related not by blood, but by their willingness to work together to survive. They shared no notoriety, keeping to themselves and only working for money. They cared for very little besides themselves, making sure their needs were met before any others.
When a grueling winter took the Duskalian north by surprise, they were caught by surprise, forcing them to bunker down in the Parasidas Mountains. Food lasted a short time, clean water, even less so. Infighting began amongst the family, causing discourse, fights and death.
When spring finally came, only a single member of the family descended the mountains. A boy no older than eighteen. Without a second thought, he made his way west, avoiding any and all conflict between tribes before taking a boat to Selyria. There, he built his relations between the only people he thought he called his 'people', elves in Drasek.
Spending many decades within Drasek, he took his relations and everything he learnt to the world outside the kingdom. Leaving them behind to rebuild his family, making sure their name is not forgotten in the mountains of Duskalia.
Proof of Devotion (Outer Circle)
Anyone willing to join the Vathesh family must prove their are not simply joining for the perks of being a noble. After a few months of being under the name, the brand of the Duskalian Phoenix must be branded onto your finger. Afterwards; a bronze ring is placed upon the brand, covering it to keep the brand hidden from those outside the House.
Proof of Devotion (Inner Circle)
House Vathesh came from the lands of Duskalia, so their traditions are far different from those of Selyrians. Those within the Inner Circle of the House must go through a gruesome and daring ritual. The consumption of a heart and an arcane lobe of a mage or shifter. Through consuming the heart and arcane lobe, the body grows stronger, gaining more mana and strength (or so the family believes).
Pure Silence
No one outside the Inner Circle of House Vathesh knows of the practice they take part in, being sure it never leaves the walls of the House. Only those truly trusted become one of the Inner Circle, for if the information of what they practice were to be known, the end of the family would be assured.
