Shalvios Squids, known by many as "the dead watchers". They are mainly found within the sea, but some say that some types have evolved to "walk" on land. This document is used to inform about these creatures and what they do.
The Shalvios Squids come from a mixture of all sorts of creatures, but their closest relatives is the Jjana Squid, often found in the Void Zone. The Shalvios was discovered in 1513 FS in one of Ravena’s beaches. These creatures are on average 150 cm, which is larger than a usual squid. Its tentacles are the main reason for this, as each tentacle is 80 cm long. This is used to control the host, which we will go into at part 2. The squid only has 6 tentacles at most, with each having incredibly sharp claws used to open up a host. These creatures also have both reproductive organs, which means they can reproduce without a partner. They place their eggs within the host, and once the eggs have hatched they use the remaining flesh of the host as food.
The thing that differs these squids from any standard squid is its method of disguise, which is named "Hevermation". First, the squid tries to find a dead creature that can fit its mass within it. Once found, the squid will cut open the creature with its claws or beak. The squid then inhabits itself into the creature where it releases a toxin that decreases the rotting of the creature. Eggs are released within the host and the squid would use the host to fool other creatures. Once the host gets close enough to the target, the squid bursts from the host and attacks the target.
Research of the squid is still in the process, as no Shalvios Squid has been recovered due to the violent nature of the creature.
