Lab Director
Dr. Abby Caselli is a social psychologist whose research program examines how the social context, relationship context, and the self interact, with the overall goal of understanding how people can achieve optimal well-being. Thus far, Dr. Caselli's research has examined how: 1) the self and relationship-relevant processes can buffer the negative impacts of racial discrimination and 2) how processes within people's relationships can influence their overall sense of self.
In addition, Dr. Caselli is very passionate about teaching. She strives to use active learning in her classroom to engage students with the material by applying concepts to the real world. Her favorite classes to teach are Research Methods, Experimental Psychology, Human Sexuality, and Close Relationships. Finally, Dr. Caselli enjoys working with students on their own research. Please email her if you are interested in doing mentored research in psychology.
