The project commences in 2006, as a series of honours projects. In 2007 the team secured internal funding for a cross institutional technology development program. Through the decade after the researchers explored aspects of remote management. From 2018 the project was renamed - The Second Pancreas Project - focussed upon IP and enterprise development.
