Hello people, if you're reading this, hopefully you are having a wonderful day. This is my portfolio. I came into this class thinking that this would be an easy A, but boy was I wrong. If you don't put in the work in the class then you won't pass, easy as that. The essays that we had to write have made me face many challenges when writing this portfolio. Coming out of my comfort zone was pretty hard because I am pretty shy person when it comes to new people or when others are reading my essays. Throughout these essays I've written about the other side of me, that was a hard one to write at first because I didn't really know that I had another side of myself that I hide to the world. The essay really opened up my eyes because I basically have two different personalities and I didn't even know about it.
The essays were very confusing at first but once you got the general idea of it, ideas would just keep flowing. The toughest assignment that I had to write would probably be the Why the Hate essay because it had so much extra work that it made it very confusing. I wrote about a character named Mark Newman who join an Anti - Immigrant society because of his father. Having to find research for the story that you created was pretty difficult and sometimes it took close to hours to even find usable resources. The one I enjoyed was the Place of Mind essay because it really showed me that a picture or place can mean so much more if you really focuses or look more in depth.” A picture is worth a thousand words” I never really understood that until I understood the essay.
The essays were pretty frustrating to me because of the way the requirements were written which made me stress more than I should. They basically said that even the slightest of mistakes can make or break you. That stressed me out and made my very worried about myself being in this class. But I later then figured out that this class and the work that we have to do can be less challenging with proper time management and following instructions.
In conclusion, the portfolio was a challenge but I didn’t come out empty handed. I learned how to use my time wisely, show more emotion, more visual formats. All the essays that we wrote about were eye openers, it made my look deeper into things that I would never imagine. Basically a better writer is what I am trying to say. That is something I really never could say about myself until now and for that I am grateful for being able to do these essays and not only learn more about myself but getting to learn about the peers around me. The hard part is now over, and now is the part where you get to read my portfolio.
