Mental Health Care & Training Resources
We build resources.
The National Queer and Trans Therapists of Color Network works at the intersection of movements for social justice and the field of mental health to increase access to healing justice resources for QTBIPoC. Check out their therapist directory and Mental Health Fund (open in cycles), which provides financial support for QTBIPoC to work with psychotherapists
I have been maintaining this largely crowdsourced, primarily NYC-specific LGBTQIA+ mental health resource list, featuring some national/online and peer-based resources, since 2014
The wonderful Inclusive Therapists team maintains a therapist directory that I've linked in my own resource list. They also offer these workshops & trainings themselves. Check them out on Twitter @inclusivemh
The Affirmative Couch provides continuing ed and a free online magazine for practitioners looking to strengthen their skills in affirmative care to LGBTQIA+ community members
Caring for Our Precious LGBTQ+ Mental Health
In March of 2021, I moderated an online panel discussion on approaches members of queer and trans communities can take to caring for our mental health, hosted by NYC bookstore and event space the Bureau of General Services - Queer Division. Hear what our wonderful panelists had to say, and benefit from a mini experiential tapping session!
