the john deere international touring series is the top developmental series for nurrscurr. before you get to the cup series, you have to prove your worth here. like minor league baseball, you have to get through the lower divisions to get to the top. the drivers may face a lighter schedule than the cup series, but that doesnt make it easy, the tracks are demanding, long, and complex, and require lots of skill to be a top level driver in this series.
On Friday, wabc-mcnama enterprises signed David letterman to drive in the Verizon grand national division. Letterman was not drafted by a cup series team and was mulling offers from both wabc and adrenaline motorsports, the tier one motorsports satellite team. The deal is reportedly for one year, and could be extended with an option.
last week, the nurrscurr john deere series had it's draft lottery, and the results were not that bad. this article will go over the top 10 lottery selections and their stats for season seven.
1. mist engineering racing
mist engineering racing has not had a stellar season, and them aquiring the #1 pick with new sponsor pais automotive coming in for season seven, and being able to get a good driver will be crucial in making the team better than they were this season. this year, they had one driver make the playoffs, alfred hitchcock, and have had a few top 5's spread over the season. my draft projections have them selecting judge judy with their first pick.
2.stargenley racing
stargenley racing has had a good season, arguably better than mist engineering, but they actually did not get a driver in the playoffs. tom cruise was long out of the picture in the first place, but george clooney had pointed his way into the chase, but was bumped after don imus declared for the john deere championship. they have had multiple top 10s this year, and they are projected to select lebron james second in the draft.
3. pinn electron racing
pinn electron racing has had an up and down seaosn, with one win, but both drivers making the chase. pinn electron could use a better lineup, as their oval program is actually stellar, but they need a road course speciallist to help them get through their season a little bit smoother. the projected selection is tiger woods.
4. adrenaline motorsports
adrenaline motorsports is actually one of the best teams in the series, with two wins and multiple top 5 and 10 finishes throughout the year. despite losing audrey hepburn at the start of the playoffs, they rebounded with matt damon's second win of the year coming at the end of the very same race. my projected draft selection is marylin monroe.
5-wfan-mcnama
wfan-mcnama enterprises has becone one of the best teams in the history of nurrscurr, bursting out of the gates around week 9 or 10 and not looking back. they currently have 5 wins as a john deere team, and they are only getting better, adding two more cars to their lineup. we will get to that in a moment. my projected draft pick is don imus.
6.ian harrison inc.
despite being another developmental team for new talent for the cup0 series, ian harrison inc has not had as much luck as wfan-mcnama. they have yet to win a race this year, with only multiple top 10s in play. they havent exactly got the best equipment, i.h.i. engines are notoriously slow, but they might be able to turn it around with the new car. my projected selection is john f kennedy.
7.kerozen motorsport
kerozen motorsport had a good start to their year by winning the john deere 400 and having both drivers soundly in the chase with wins for both john f kennedy and keith richards. the performance had fallen off during the middle of the season, but i think that this team could become a threat in the new season. my projected pick is elvis presley.
8. keavney's racing
the first new team in the series to make a selection is keavney's racing, and the eighth selection is perfectly where this team needs to be to start off on a good foot. my projected selection is robin williams.
9. team montgolfier
this team has been low key a hidden gem team, and their performances this year were pretty good. angelina jolie was able to make it in on points and kylie minogue missed the playoffs by jsut three points. this team needs to find a new source for engines, and a new driver may make them contenders this winter. my projected selection is keith richards.
10. kgon racing
kgon racing was the first team to enter the sport mid season, and they performed as expected. with only about 25 laps led combined between two drivers casey mears and kamikazegames, kamikaze is looking to become an only owner and make his team as good as possible. my projected selection is casey mears.
