Learning happens best when kids see connections between what is happening at childcare and the 'real-world.' Each experience solidifies learning and supports important academic concepts. Our childcare takes multiple field trips each week to ensure kids can engage in different content through a variety of ways.
Some of our favorite places to explore are: the EC Children's Museum, storytime, Riversource Family Center, Family Resource Center, local parks, beaches, pools, and local farms.
(2-3K and 4-5K Instruction)
I use Blossom and Root's "Early Years" curriculum to guide my instruction. All children will receive instruction; however, children over the age of three will receive additional one-on-one preschool instruction. Please read more on my curriculum page.
I use multidisciplainary interventions to guide daily learning. These include communication, physical development, cognitive development, social-emotional, and adaptive development.
I post daily photos and videos to our private Facebook group so that guardians can stay-in-the loop with the exciting things their child is taking part of.
Guardians will be briefed at each drop-off and pick-up about their child's day.
I am a certified Conscious Discipline teacher. I use my teachings to cultivate emotional intelligence though self-regulation and social-emotional learning and discipline.
While I am regulated and have specific guidelines for how many children I can take, I make sure to never be at capacity. This gives me ample time to play with each child, reduce illnesses, and allows for drop-in availability on most days.
*I am licensed to have seven children at a time.
Throughout the year I have multiple after-hour events. While these are optional, they allow guardians to meet other families in a fun, new environment.
I also schedule conferences throughout the year to discuss the social, academic, and emotional development of your child.
Healthy meals and snacks are served and included in your rate. I am on the Western Dairyland Food Program. Breakfast, morning snacks, lunch, and afternoon snacks are served daily.
We practice safety drills (fire or tornado / bad weather) monthly. In addition, I dedicate one week each month to teach the importance of these drills and other ways to stay safe and healthy. Some of these topics include (but are not limited to) fire and tornado safety, first aid, and how to ask for help.
Prior to opening a childcare two and a half years ago, I was an elementary and middle school teacher. I have my bachelor's degree in early education from UW-Eau Claire and my master's degree as a reading specialist from UW-Stout.
While earning my master's, I received two specialty certificates as a Reading 316 and 317 teacher (meaning I qualified to teach reading intervention to both students and teachers). I double minored in Language Arts and American Sign Language. And diversified my studies to provide a special emphasis on physiological child development, educating children with special needs, and teaching inclusion and diversity.
I have taken many certifications to prepare me for opening my childcare facility. These include Introduction to the Child Care Profession, Fundamentals of Family, Fundamentals of Infant and Toddler Care, CPR, SIDS Training, Abusive Head Trauma Prevention Training (also known as "Shaken Baby Syndrome"), Mandated Reporter, and Certified Nursing Assistant. I am passionate about continuing my education so that I can continue to provide the best research-based practices to children.
I offer a daycare that is LGBTQ-friendly and a Transgender Safe Space.
Please fill out the interest form below to see if I have a spot available or be added to my waitlist.
I do not believe that the perfect family is necessarily at the top of my waitlist. When a spot opens, I call every family to overview what I offer, learn about the goals you have for your child, and the logistics of my care. From there, I will select families to walk though my facility, go over a presentation about my contract, discuss the holistic needs of your child, and informally interview families.
