Summer Research Opportunities
NSF funds a large number of research opportunities for undergraduate students through its REU Sites program. An REU Site consists of a group of ten or so undergraduates who work in the research programs of the host institution. Each student is associated with a specific research project, where he/she works closely with the faculty and other researchers. Students are granted stipends and, in many cases, assistance with housing and travel.
Cientifico Latino, LLC aims to promote an environment of inclusivity in STEM and increase the number of scientists from minoritized backgrounds in higher education in the sciences through mentorship,open-access resources, and professional development opportunities.

ASCENT: Advancement of Scholaras in Cancer Education aNd Training Program
A multi-dimensional mentoring and cancer research training experience to inspire and prepare post-baccalaureate students from historically underrepresented groups to enroll and succeed in a top-tier PhD or MD-PhD program and commit to cancer research careers.
November 1, 2023 – March 15, 2024: Program application open
February 16, 2024: Deadline to apply to be considered for rolling admissions

Sex, Aging, Genomics, & Evolution (IISAGE) Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Program
A paid 10-week summer program that enables students to join IISAGE laboratories across the United States to investigate sex-based differences in aging across diverse animal species.
Program Dates: May 19 – August 10, 2024
Applicants must be US citizens, US nationals, or US permanent residents. They must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program through the entire program period.
Participants will receive a $6000 stipend

PIKE-PREP: Preparation in Interdisciplinary Knowledge to Excel - Postbaccalaureate Research Education Program
A multi-dimensional mentoring and research training experience to prepare underrepresented post-baccalaureate students to enroll and succeed in a top-tier PhD or MD-PhD program and commit to a career in biomedical research.
