The Imperial Officer Academy serves as a rigorous probationary trial for aspiring members of the Imperial Officer Corps, with its curriculum overseen by a distinguished member of the Imperial Ruling Council. Its fundamental purpose is to bridge the significant professional gap between the ranks of Warrant Officer and Lieutenant, and to ascertain a candidate's suitability and adherence to the high standards of the Officer Corps. While the specific administration of the Academy may vary by the Grand General, this document outlines a foundational framework.
To facilitate clarity and ease of understanding, the Academy's structure will be delineated across three distinct explanatory sections. During your probationary period, you will temporarily hold the rank of Lieutenant. Successful completion of the Academy will result in the retention of this rank. Conversely, failure to meet the required standards will necessitate a demotion to the rank of Warrant Officer.
The probationary period, a trial designed to assess an officer's suitability, remains in effect until the officer in question either satisfies all mandated standards or is deemed to be inactive. While no formal quota is imposed, probationary officers are nevertheless expected to host events. A failure to demonstrate this initiative may be considered grounds for demotion, though it is understood that they may require supervision.
To successfully pass probation, an officer must fulfill the following requirements:
Be certified for standards by any member of the Officer Corps Management (OCM).
Successfully host one of each designated event under the direct supervision of a member of the OCM.
Receive official approval for any superfluous action from a current Officer who is not themselves on probation.
Should an officer fail to meet these probationary standards, they shall be demoted to the rank of Warrant Officer and will be subject to a two-week probationary deferment. All requirements successfully completed during this period will remain valid and will not be required to be redone in any subsequent probationary attempt.
In order for the Officer Corps to maintain its unwavering standards, its officers are required to exhibit an exemplary level of discipline and conduct, thereby serving as a paradigm for all personnel. This commitment includes the demonstration of proper deference to all superiors within the chain of command and the strict adherence to all established regulations. The accumulation of a single punitive mark for any violation during the probationary period will result in an immediate and decisive failure.
To uphold the high standards of the Imperial military, it is imperative that all training protocols are adhered to with the utmost precision, and all sessions are executed to the highest degree of efficiency. The Empire has no tolerance for negligence or any form of disregard for established procedure.
Consequently, probationary officers are authorized to host training events only under the direct supervision of a member of the Officer Corps Management (OCM). Upon the conclusion of the event, the probationary officer shall be provided with a formal evaluation. Should the event meet the requisite standards, it will be marked as a successful completion. Otherwise, the officer will be required to repeat the event at a later date.
It must be understood that probation cannot be failed due to a lack of initial proficiency. However, if a supervisor provides corrective instruction and the probationary officer exhibits insubordination, the penalty for such disobedience is an immediate and decisive failure of the probationary period.
Upon entering the Officer Corps, one is expected to exceed the minimum requirements of service. Officers are required to demonstrate proactive engagement by attending official discussions and debates, performing moderative duties, and consistently exemplifying the highest standards of Imperial conduct.
Consequently, actions beyond the scope of one's regular duties are also mandated, and these may be officially approved by any active Officer not currently on probation. While restricting such approvals to the Officer Corps Management (OCM) would ensure a consistent standard, this decentralized approach is intended to prevent meritorious actions from going unrecognized.
It must be understood that a failure to perform these duties does not, in itself, constitute a failure of probation. However, one will not be considered for a successful passing of probation until all such requirements have been fulfilled.
Upon the successful completion of your probationary period, you are hereby granted your commission and officially graduate from the Imperial Officer Academy, becoming a fully-fledged Officer of the Galactic Empire. May your continued service to the Emperor and Empress be marked by unwavering loyalty and distinguished purpose.
