The Hive Collective was created out of connection. The three of us met in early 2024 through the doula community and quickly realized we shared the same vision for birth work. We wanted to build something bigger than ourselves, a network that would allow us to support families more deeply and create real community around birth and postpartum.
Working individually can be limiting, but by coming together we’ve been able to grow, learn, and offer a stronger, more connected experience for the families who hire us. We each bring our own strengths and areas of expertise, and together we provide consistent, continuous support. Many families work with all three of us during postpartum, which creates a well-rounded village of care and backup support for birth and beyond.
Community is at the heart of what we do. Every month we host client circles for anyone who has taken classes with us or hired us for birth or postpartum care. These gatherings are a chance to meet in person, share stories, learn something new, and build real friendships. We also created The Birth and The Bees, a cozy and in-depth childbirth education series offered both in person and online. These classes were born out of our desire for more intimate, hands-on learning spaces where families can truly feel prepared and supported.
We also value connection within the wider Calgary birth community. We maintain close relationships with midwives, physicians, and other care providers so that our clients have access to trusted, personalized resources when they need them.
The Hive Collective continues to evolve as we grow together, always finding new ways to make doula care more accessible, community-driven, and rooted in genuine connection.
