Any adult, aged 18 or older, who is a high school graduate and is interested in the purposes of the Heartland Winds Community Band may be considered as a candidate for membership should a section vacancy exist as determined by the musical director/conductor. Members are expected to pay their membership dues and attend rehearsals prior to each concert series. He or she will continue to be a member in good standing as long as he or she agrees to and follows the membership conditions and continues to demonstrate musical proficiency.
For current vacancies in the band, interested musicians may apply to join the band for an individual concert series or an entire concert season (typically 3 concerts per season), depending on your interest and availability. For the 2025-26 concert season the band has vacancies for: clarinets (all types and all parts), tubas and French horns. For more information concerning joining the Heartland Winds, please contact our personnel manager Dave Coffing.
Heartland Winds concerts are FREE and open to the general public.
Current membership dues are $10 per concert series / $30 for the entire concert season. Band members are expected to pay their membership dues for each concert they participate in. Membership dues should be paid to our treasurer, Bob Steen (make checks payable to The Heartland Winds). The Heartland Winds rely entirely upon membership dues and community support to fund band expenses.
