Birmingham's many 100s of volunteer litter pickers carry out many hours of activities each week, both in our streets and in our green spaces and parks.

They do this to benefit our environment, our communities and all our mental health and wellbeing. It is a treasure to see the improvements made - both small and large.

Activities range from litter picking, flytipping clearance, graffiti removal, 'geurilla' gardening, reporting issues to the council and supporting other community-focused interests/events.

So next time you see a volunteer activity improving your community, stop to talk to them, get involved, or smile and give them a thumbs-up
