In this section, we'll analyze excerpts from TAMU-CC's 2020- 2021 admissions viewbook and the current 2024-2025 admission viewbook to understand how admissions policies have changed. Previously, TAMU-CC emphasized standardized test scores as a major admission criterion. However, in 2020, TAMU-CC adopted test-optional policies due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a shift that aligns with the broader movement towards holistic admission practices seen across higher education. 

By comparing these two sets of criteria, we can see how TAMU-CC's approach has broadened to consider each applicant individually rather than solely by test scores and grades.
