There are so many facets to Natural Watercolor Paint Making. Naturally, these demonstrations lend themselves to Art classes, but there's so much more to explore: Outdoor Ethics, Biochemistry, Plant Identification, Social and Emotional Learning (the process of learning a new skill), Geology, Troubleshooting...
I do not believe in gatekeeping. I want to make sure that anyone who is interested in this topic can have access in a way that works for them. I also need to honor the time and energy that I have put into this. To accomplish both of these goals, I have workshops scheduled at different locations, with different fee structures based on grants that different . If none of my currently scheduled workshops will work for what you are imagining, you can feel free to contact me and we can discuss a private workshop, demonstration, or discussion!
Below are some examples of sessions I have done in the past, who they were for, and how compensation worked/ could work. If you are a classroom or non-profit, I would love to work with you to meet your budget.

Sandstone Flower & Garden Club Meeting: 30 min discussion
I used to be a member of the garden club, and was asked by their president if I would be able to do a demonstration. After seeing how much time was available, we decided to do a discussion instead. I will bring some examples of the process, but we will mostly chat. Since this group is interested in growing flowers, the focus will be on garden plants, native and horticultural varieties, that I have used to make paints.

East Central High School- 2D Art Class: 2 hours total set up and take down, 2 hours of interactive presentation over the course of two, 45 minute class periods.
I lightly touched on the process of turning plants into pigments and demonstrated during the first session. The second session we made watercolor binder and created a classroom palette.

Check the Upcoming Workshops page to find a session. If there are none available, and you have between 6 and 10 people who would like to have a private workshop, please Contact me. These workshops are typically 4 hours long, with 2 hours to set up and tear down, and go through the technicalities of creating watercolor paint from a raw material. The host is responsible for providing the workshop site, which must have access to water, electricity, tables and a sink. All participants will create and walk away with their own watercolor palette.
