Welcome to The CS, a locale whose moniker, though charmingly abbreviated, belies the intellectual paucity of those who coined it. Commonsense City, as it is formally known, stands as a testament to the triumph of mediocrity over ambition—a municipality that prides itself on pedestrian virtues rather than the loftier pursuits of civilization.
Here, dear visitor, you will find a community that has elevated the banal to an art form, where "commonsense" is heralded as wisdom rather than acknowledged for its true nature: a refuge for those unable or unwilling to grapple with complexity. The inhabitants, in their endearing simplicity, have managed to fashion a society that eschews innovation in favour of comfortable stagnation—a feat worthy of anthropological study if not outright commendation.
Do take your time to explore this bastion of unremarkable living. One might even argue that its charm lies in its resolute refusal to aspire beyond the quotidian. But let us not overwhelm you with profundities; after all, one must tread lightly when addressing minds unaccustomed to nuance. Welcome, indeed, to The CS—a city whose very name is a triumph of understatement.
* Mr. Block is, in his own words, "the highly respected former publisher of the Ha'penny Observer-Review newspaper, which served Commonsense City for more than 100 years until it recently ceased publication. He is also an author, commentator, and investor." As described in a recent account written by someone named Mitchell Shannon, Mr. Block is currently incarcerated and awaiting trial related to a number of crimes (specifically, twelve) against Commonsense City—all of which, he wishes to emphasize, are alleged and unproven as of the date of this posting. He is making excellent use of this enforced quiet time to complete his manuscript for his forthcoming self-published book of essays, Prescott's Perceptions: My Examination of the Memes and Tropes and Themes of Today's Social Media.
