Learning to sign can be perceived as a big task... unless you take it slowly but keep up with it!

The aim of this page is to provide you with some of the most useful signs so that you can start signing straight away and, if you are interested, you can also find links to where to find more signs.
The videos provide both the British Sign Language (BSL) and Makaton versions of the signs. The modality you should use depends on who you are signing with. You can find more information on the Sigining Section in the Communication Machine.

2. Ten videos of the most fundamental signs grouped in topics. These videos present each sign both on BSL and Makaton on a split screen so that you can see any similarities or differences between them.
