The Conversion of Saul (1)

Acts 22:3 I am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia but brought up in this city and trained at the feet of Gamaliel, according to the strictness of the law of our fathers, being zealous for God, even as you all are today

Acts 22:25 But as they stretched him out with the thongs, Paul said to the centurion standing by, Is it lawful for you to scourge a man who is Roman and uncondemned? 

Philippians 3:5-6 Circumcised the eighth day; of the race of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew born of Hebrews; as to the law, a Pharisee; 6 As to zeal, persecuting the church; as to righteousness which is in the law, become blameless


Approved Stephen's killing

Acts 7:58 And they threw him outside of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their garments at the feet of a young man called Saul. 

Acts 8:1 And Saul approved of his killing. And there occurred in that day a great persecution against the church which was in Jerusalem; and all were scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles. 


Devastated the church

Acts 8:3 But Saul was devastating the church, entering house after house; and dragging off men and women, he delivered them to prison


Breathed threatening and murder against those of the Way

Acts 9:1-2 But Saul, still breathing threatening and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest 2 And asked for letters from him to Damascus for the synagogues, so that if he found any who were of the Way, both men and women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem

Acts 22:4 And I persecuted this Way unto death, binding and delivering to prisons both men and women


Authorized to bind all who call on the name of the Lord

Acts 9:14 And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call upon Your name


Acts 9:3 And as he went, he drew near to Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.


Acts 9:4-5 And he fell on the ground and heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? 5 And he said, Who are You, Lord? And He said, I am Jesus, whom you persecute


The church & Me

Ephesians 3:3 That by revelation the mystery was made known to me, as I have written previously in brief. 

Ephesians 5:32 This mystery is great, but I speak with regard to Christ and the church.


Acts 26:19 Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision.
