A Heavenly Vision & A Divine Commission

Acts 26:16-18 But rise up and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you as a minister and a witness both of the things in which you have seen Me and of the things in which I will appear to you; 17 Delivering you from the people and from the Gentiles, to whom I send you, 18 To open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to light and from the authority of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me. 


"To open their eyes" 

Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to announce the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to send away in release those who are oppressed. 

Ephesians 1:18 The eyes of your heart having been enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of His calling.


"To turn them from darkness to light"

Acts 26:23 That the Christ would suffer and that He, being the first to rise from the dead, would announce light both to the people and to the Gentiles. 

Ephesians 5:8 For you were once darkness but are now light in the Lord; walk as children of light. 


"To turn them...from the authority of Satan to God" 

Matthew 12:26 And if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against Himself. How then will his kingdom stand? 

Colossians 1:13 Who delivered us out of the authority of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love. 


"That they may receive forgiveness of sins"

Luke 24:47 And that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. 

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 


"That they may receive...an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me"

Colossians 1:12 Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you for a share of the allotted portion of the saints in the light. 


Acts 26:19 Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision.
