The launch of Letters, Words and Wobbly Lines was a really special afternoon.
It was hosted in Scoil Mochua, in their MPR room, a chill out and literacy space. A space that felt particularly fitting, as I had been part of the fundraising team that helped bring it to life. It was lovely to see it being used in this way.
The room filled with family and friends, local teachers, community members, parents, business owners, and children - including my own, which was very meaningful to the day.
My publisher (Emu Ink) spoke about how the book came about and the process of working together to bring it from idea to print. The school principal shared generous words about our work together in the school and said she was not surprised to see the project come to fruition, something I deeply appreciated. I’m very grateful for her support and for allowing us to use the space.
There were decorations, tea, coffee, cake, and treat bags for the children. We had a reading, a short Q&A, book signings, and lots of conversation. Most of all, there was a real sense of encouragement and community in the room.
It was a lovely way to mark the launch, surrounded by people who have supported the journey from the very beginning.
