About Practice Quits:
Take an inventory of your smoking and cravings to find patterns and solutions to your problems with nicotine by making a 6-column list labeled with 1) Date, 2) Time, and 3) What you were doing then. 4) Emotion/Feelings? 5) Strength of Craving (1-5), and 6) Your Response
Review what worked and what didn't with someone. Also, develop a plan of care for your cravings. Below are some ideas. This stage is challenging, but it is doable until the miracle happens. I would like you to stay tuned with meetings. They say 90 in 90, but you might need 180 in 90 for this addiction! A Practice Quit turned into a good quit when I did an honest inventory of why I was using it and addressed it with the program's tools.
The way I soothe myself during my practices was by doing the following:
5 TOOLS OF THE PROGRAM are 1) Meetings, 2) Phone list, 3) Literature, 4) Sponsorship, and 5) Service Work
The 5 D's are 1) Deep Breathe, 2) Drink Water, 3) Distract, 4) Delay and 5) Discuss
