Summer must be getting close…..it’s Camp Bimini cookie time!!!

Camp Bimini has asked for assistance from the congregation of Thamesview UC in the form of 25 dozen cookies for the campers and staff. Our delivery date this year is Sunday, July 28, 2024. Please see some of the suggestions from Carol re: cookies below:

• Peanut-free and tree-nut-free is required. Tree Nuts include pine nuts, walnuts, pecans, almonds, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, etc. This also includes nut butters/peanut butters or anything made with peanuts and/or nuts (like Almond milk). We have several life-threatening allergies to peanuts and tree nuts each camp week.

• Think of kinds of cookies that kids would like.

• Consistency in size is good. Please try to have all cookies no smaller than 2 inches in diameter.

• Please send your goodies in containers that do not need to be returned or transferred to another container.

Each week of camp, we have 120 people on site, 80-90 of which are campers. While our menu does include a lot of snacks of fruit, it is a treat to have homemade cookies. For our cooks not having to bake them in a busy, hot kitchen, is a great treat as well. We thank you for your gift to the campers and staff.

Anyone who would like to contribute some home-baked cookies for Camp Bimini should contact Karen Harmer by email (kfharmer@quadro.net) or phone (519) 229-8129. An electronic sign up sheet (Google Doc) is also attached where interested bakers can sign up directly on the document.  https://docs.google.com/document/d/1QExhHt0XpNlOoYJr2ysK8iiyhzHEhJvSj-fx4I2Brms/edit?usp=sharing

Cookies should be dropped off by 12:00 noon on Sunday, July 28, at the home of Frank and Karen: 2976 Perth Road 164 (Highway 23), Mitchell. Please contact me if you plan on dropping off cookies on an alternate day or if you’d like your cookies picked up.
