Information for prospective students

We invite applicants from ambitious and motivated candidates interested in working with us. Some useful information for applicants is given below-

Please ensure to include your CV with details on subjects studied, CGPA/marks, prior internships, or research experience in the email.
Please avoid using AI and generative tools to write the emails. It may be difficult to write that first email for the internship, but it is your own voice that we would like to hear. Remember when everyone uses AI tools to write emails, they all look exactly alike making you drown in the crowd rather than stand out.
While applying for the internship, please include the details on the time and duration of the intended internship.

Post-doctoral positions

We welcome inquiries from candidates interested in applying for independent fellowships (such as SERB-NPDF, DBT-RA, etc.) with our lab as the host institution. For those seeking post-doctoral positions, we are particularly looking for individuals with a strong interest in studying Parkinson's disease using mouse models or core molecular biology tools.

PhD positions

Our lab is always eager to welcome energetic and ambitious PhD students with a passion for neuroscience research. We have two open positions for the August 2026 intake. We are looking for one candidate with a strong interest in either computational biology or bioinformatics and another candidate with an interest in mouse work and molecular biology. Candidates will be working with gene KO, overexpression, siRNA, primary cell culture, live cell imaging, bioinformatics, omics-data analysis, machine learning-based image analysis techniques. Interested students are welcome to write to us for preliminary inquiries.

Essential qualifications—

1. Candidates who hold CSIR/DBT/ICMR-JRF.

2. Students with a good rank in GATE are also eligible.

3. Students from any of the IISERs or IITs with a CGPA above 8 are eligible, even without the JRF qualification.

Major Project for Master's students

We invite IISER-TVM BS-MS, MSc, and iPhD students to apply for major project opportunities in our lab. Interested students may send their CV along with a motivation statement detailing their research aspirations. We are recruiting people with an interest in wet lab work as well as computation and data science work.

Students from other institutions cannot be accommodated.

Minor project/Short projects/internship

IISER-TVM students are preferred for internships. We are actively looking for students with an interest in bioinformatics and machine learning for data analysis. Students from other institutes cannot be accomodated.
