Information for prospective students
Candidates interested in applying for PhD and Postdoctoral positions are encouraged to contact me for preliminary inquiries. They should have a strong interest in pursuing research in any aspect of Parkinson's disease. Candidates should send their resume and a research statement (1-2 page) highlighting their previous research experience, their motivation for perusing this line of research and what they would like to do in my lab.
The most important qualities that we are looking for in a candidate are - Enthusiasm, Drive, and Motivation. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, the ability to work in a team, and good interpersonal skills.
Useful information for applicants

External short term (< 6 months) trainees or dissertation requests are currently not being considered (Email inquiries for these will not be responded).
No research/project assistant positions are available in the lab (Email inquiries for these will not be responded).
IISER-TVM students approaching for short projects must mention the tentative time and duration for which they want to work in the lab.

Post-doctoral positions
Candidates interested in applying for independent fellowships (SERB-NPDF, DBT-RA etc) with the lab as a host are welcome to contact us. People interested in post-doctoral positions should have a strong interest in mouse models of Parkinson's disease. Previous experience in some of the following skills is desired - mouse handling, behavioral analysis, immunohistochemistry, Matlab coding, electrophysiology, molecular biology.
PhD positions
Our lab is always looking for PhD students with an inclination toward neuroscience research. Candidates with CSIR/DBT/ICMR-JRF qualifications are welcome to contact us any time of the year. BS-MS students from any of the IISERs or IITs with CGPA above 8 are exempted from national-level eligibility test-related criteria. Click here for details. Interested candidates are strongly encouraged to contact us for preliminary inquiries. Previous experience with mouse handling and molecular biology is desirable but not essential.
Major Project for Master's students
IISER-TVM BS-MS/MSc/iPHD students interested in carrying out their major projects in the lab can apply with a CV and motivation statement. Students from other institutes interested in carrying out Msc/MTech dissertation projects can be accommodated only under exceptional circumstances.
Minor project/Short projects/internship
IISER-TVM students are preferred for internships. MSC students from other institutes are also welcome to apply for summer/winter internships (minimum 2 months)
