Our mission is to engage and empower Philly youth to drive climate action in their communities.

Join the Franklin Institute Youth Climate Summit to learn about climate change, its impacts, and solutions!

What is the Youth Climate Summit (YCS)?

A virtual gathering to explore climate change, its impacts, and solutions!

  • 3 Educational Workshops led by scientists, environmental justice activists, youth advocates, and more will showcase climate solutions and inspire action! Open to all participating students & educators.

  • 1 Action Planning Workshop will guide student/educator teams in climate action planning to enact at their school/organization.

  • 1 Educators Workshop for educators to sharpen their skills in supporting youth-led climate action.

Who can join the YCS?

Teams of Philadelphia-area students and educators in grades 8-12.


  • 1 team = 3 to 10 students + 1 educator

  • Summit attendees may only enroll with 1 team.

  • Teams can represent a school or out-of-school time organization.

When is the YCS happening?

The YCS will convene over four sessions in Earth Month (April) 2021:

  • Educational Workshops will be held on April 6, 7, and 13.

  • Action Planning Workshop will be held on April 14.

How much does it cost to participate?

This event is FREE to all participants.
