Welcome to the People's Action Text Team! Please follow all the steps below in order to get set up!
*Helpful Tip* We recommend using a computer with the Google Chrome browser for the best experience! If you don't have a computer - no worries! You can also use the Chrome browser on an iPad or mobile phone.
What is Slack? Slack is where volunteers communicate, ask for help, and get updates! It is composed of channels, where specific topics are discussed.
Step by step instructions:
When prompted, enter the email you'd like to use. This does not have to be your work email, a personal email works best! You will then be walked through how to finish creating your account.
The most important thing is to find the #texting channel on the left side panel. This is where you can ask questions and get updates while texting!
Once you have joined, say hi and introduce yourself in the #welcome-start-here channel!
What is Spoke? Spoke is a political messaging application for sending mass text messages to volunteers and voters.
Step by step instructions:
Spoke is different than Slack, but it uses your Slack account to let you join! To make sure you can join Spoke easily, it helps to make sure you open the link above in the same browser you just joined Slack.
(If prompted, specify "peoplesactionnetwork" as the Slack domain to sign in with.)
If/when you see a page that says: "Spoke Rewired is requesting permission to access the People's Action Network Slack workspace" Click the green Allow button.
You will then see "you are not part of any organization". Refresh your screen (click on this link if that doesn't work) to proceed to Spoke!
Check our Troubleshooting Guide at the top right of this page or under "More" on smaller screens. If you can't find it, just click here to open the page directly!
If you're still having tech issues, ask us in the Texting Tuesday Zoom or (if you're in Slack) the #texting channel for help.
