Description
This is where you will choose a set of variables grouped around a Theme or View, to be generated and displayed.
The area also displays the number of hands and the global EV (Expected Value) consistent with the set of hands determined by the player, table seat, stack and #players and and all the variables' states that have been enforced or excluded in the Exploration variables view below.
Expected value
At any moment, the expected value (or expected return), given the context and all variales currently set, is displayed above the dynamic view. This is one of the nice features of the App.
Actions-related views
A view relies on a population from which the statistics are computed. For most views, this population is the hands population. i.e. the set of hands played by the chosen player and matching some selection criteria; Example: hands reaching the flop or the turn etc.
For these hands, the expected value is a natural attribute: it is the gain or loss, in big blinds, at the end of the hand.
There are several views, related to the player's actions, whose population is based on actions and not hands (for example the “Action decision” view). For these views, the expected value is not a natural attribute as there can be several actions for the same hand and even several actions for the same street. As a consequence, computing an average expected value based on this actions’ population would be confusing as the hands with most actions would be overweighed.
This is the reason why the expected value is not displayed for actions-related views.
