Finding your Voice – teaching pronunciation in a global world
There is no denying the fact that English is now the de facto lingua franca of the world. What this of course means is that learners of English are far more likely to interact with other non-native speakers than native speakers. In this short talk I’ll start by considering the goal of pronunciation syllabi in the 21st century and then, using examples from National Geographic Learning’s Voices course, what this means for how we teach pronunciation in the classroom.
