Round Robin — Terms of Service

1. Introduction
Welcome to Round Robin, a collaborative storytelling app where users take turns writing story segments. By using Round Robin, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Round Robin.
If you are under the age of 13, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
3. Your Account
Round Robin uses email and password authentication.
You are responsible for:
Keeping your login credentials secure
Ensuring your content complies with these Terms
Using the app in a lawful and respectful manner
We may suspend or terminate access if we detect misuse or violations.
4. User Content
Round Robin allows you to create and participate in collaborative stories.
You retain ownership of the content you create.
License to Operate the App
By using the app, you grant Round Robin a non‑exclusive, worldwide license to store, display, and process your content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the app.
License for Promotional Use
All stories in Round Robin are public by default. By creating or participating in a public story, you grant Round Robin a non‑exclusive, worldwide, royalty‑free license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and display that content for marketing and promotional purposes.
This includes creating derivative works such as edited excerpts, visual panels, or social media posts.
If you mark a story as private, it will not be used for promotion without your explicit permission.
Content Restrictions
You agree not to upload or create content that:
Contains hate speech, harassment, or threats
Contains explicit sexual content
Involves sexual content with minors
Promotes violence, self‑harm, or illegal activities
Violates copyright or intellectual property rights
Contains personal data of others
We may remove content that violates these rules.
5. Collaborative Stories
Stories in Round Robin are collaborative.
By default, all stories are public and visible to all users of the app.
Premium users may choose to mark a story as private.
Private stories are visible only to the participants invited to that story.
You are responsible for:
Inviting people you trust
Ensuring your contributions are appropriate
Respecting the contributions of others
We do not proactively moderate stories, but we may intervene if content is reported or violates these Terms.
6. Friends and Public Profiles
Round Robin includes social features that allow users to connect with others.
When you add a friend, the connection is instant and mutual.
Your profile is publicly visible and displays:
Your display name
Your friend code
Your profile icon (chosen from in‑app icons)
Public stories you have created or participated in
Your public friend list
You agree not to misuse the friend system, including:
Harassing or spamming other users
Sharing friend codes for abusive purposes
Impersonating others
We may remove accounts that misuse social features.
7. In‑App Purchases
Round Robin may offer optional in‑app purchases. All purchases are processed by Google Play and follow Google Play’s payment policies.
Purchases are:
Optional
Non‑refundable except as required by Google Play
Delivered immediately upon successful transaction
Consumable items can be repurchased after use
All purchases apply to your Round Robin account, not your Google account.
Entitlements (such as premium features) are linked to your in‑app profile and are restored when you log in with the same Round Robin account.
8. Reporting and Moderation
Users can report inappropriate content.
When a report is submitted, we store:
Reporter ID
Story or segment ID
Timestamp
Moderation is performed manually by the app developer.
During moderation, the developer may access:
The reported content
The reporter’s user ID
The involved users’ display names
The involved users’ email addresses (as stored in Firebase Authentication)
If a segment violates these Terms, we may:
Replace its text with a placeholder
Remove the entire story if necessary
Suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate the Terms
9. Data Storage and Privacy
Round Robin stores:
Your email address
Your display name
Your stories and contributions
Basic metadata (timestamps, participation info)
Reports you submit
Round Robin also uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to improve performance and stability.

10. Service Availability
Round Robin is provided “as is” without guarantees of uninterrupted service.
We may modify or discontinue features at any time.
We are not liable for:
Data loss
Service interruptions
User‑generated content
Damages resulting from misuse of the app
11. Account Deletion
If you delete your account:
Your profile is removed
Your display name and friend code are deleted
Your profile becomes a generic “deleted user”
Your past story contributions remain to preserve story integrity
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if:
You violate these Terms
You misuse the service
We are required to do so by law
You may stop using the app at any time.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms occasionally.
If changes are significant, we will notify you within the app.
Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
