1. Introduction
Round Robin is a collaborative storytelling app where users take turns writing story segments.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and your rights as a user.
By using Round Robin, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
2.1. Account Information
Round Robin uses email and password authentication.
When you create an account, we collect:
Your email address
Your chosen display name
Your password (stored securely by Firebase Authentication; we never see or store it)
We do not access any other personal information.
2.2. Information You Provide
When using the app, you may provide:
Story titles
Story segments
Any text you write inside the app
This content is stored in Google Cloud Firestore to operate the app.
2.3. Automatically Collected Data (Analytics & Diagnostics)
Round Robin uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to help us understand app performance and improve stability.
These services automatically collect non‑personal technical data such as:
App interactions (e.g., screen views, session duration)
Device information (device model, operating system version)
Basic usage metrics (first open, app updates)
Crash reports and error logs
This data is used only to improve app performance, fix bugs, and understand general usage patterns.
We do not collect:
Story content for analytics
Advertising identifiers
Precise location
Personal identifiers such as your name or email
Round Robin does not use advertising networks, tracking SDKs, or third‑party marketing tools.
2.4. Friends, Profiles, and Public Stories
Round Robin includes social features that allow users to connect with others and view public activity.
When you add a friend, we store:
Your user ID
The user IDs of the friends you add
Your friend list is publicly visible to all users inside the app.
Your profile is also publicly visible and displays:
Your display name
Your friend code
Your profile icon (chosen from in‑app icons; users cannot upload images)
Public stories you have created or participated in
All stories are public by default.
Premium users may choose to mark a story as private, in which case it is visible only to the story’s participants.
We do not:
Access your device contacts
Import friends from other apps or social networks
Use friend requests (connections are instant and mutual)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information only to:
Authenticate your account
Create and display collaborative stories
Store your contributions
Allow reporting of inappropriate content
Maintain app functionality and safety
Improve app performance through anonymous analytics and crash diagnostics
We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
4. User‑Generated Content
Anything you write in Round Robin is visible to other users of the app.
You retain ownership of your content.
Public stories may be used for promotional purposes as described in the Terms of Service. Private stories are never used for promotion.
We may remove content that violates our Terms of Service.
5. Reporting and Moderation
Users can report inappropriate content.
When a report is submitted, we store:
Reporter ID
Story ID
Moderation is performed manually by the app developer using the Firebase console.
During moderation, the developer may access:
The reported content
The reporter’s user ID
The involved users’ display names
The involved users’ email addresses (as stored in Firebase Authentication)
Email addresses are used only for moderation, safety, and account‑related actions.
They are never shared with other users or third parties.
6. Data Sharing
We do not share your personal data with third parties except:
Google Firebase, which provides authentication, database services, analytics, and crash reporting
When required by law or legal process
We do not use advertising networks or third‑party tracking SDKs.
7. Data Security
We use Firebase Authentication and Firestore security rules to protect your data.
Passwords are handled exclusively by Firebase and are never accessible to us.
While no system is perfectly secure, we take reasonable steps to safeguard your information.
8. Data Retention
If you delete your account, your profile is removed and your account is disconnected from your content.
Your display name and friend code are deleted, and your profile becomes a generic “deleted user.”
Stories and segments you authored remain to preserve the integrity of collaborative stories, but they are no longer linked to your identity.
9. Children’s Privacy
Round Robin is not intended for children under 13.
If you are under the age of 13, you must have permission from a parent or guardian.
We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
10. Your Rights
You may:
Access your content
Request removal of content you believe violates our Terms of Service
Stop using the app at any time
If you want your account data removed, please contact us.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally.
If changes are significant, we will notify you within the app.
Continued use of the app means you accept the updated policy.
