Minerals

I have learned so much about minerals this semester because of my own investigating I have had to do to answer my own questions. My curiosity got the best of me when I came across these brightly colored rocks when out in the field at Iron Mountain Complex with classmates. I learned that both Iron and Hematite are minerals that can change colors through oxidation which can be a large part of a rock's weathering. I am so happy to have figured this out and had lots of fun discovering and learning along the way!
