Geologic Time

Precambrian-

Earth's atmosphere is developed and continents are forming. Cratons and Archaeon Plates. A Shield is a piece of craton that's exposed. Columbia was super continent before Pangea. Core original was Nuna, There were Island chains off oceanic subduction zone.

Cambrian-

Explosion of New life Forms. And sea life.

Ordovician-

New Plants emerged, then there was a mass extinction that got rid of most of them.

Silurian-

We got different FISH!!!!

Devonian-

Huge ecosystems with trees and forests started evolving.

Carboniferous-

Dense and swampy forests that lead to great deposits of peat which is where our fossil fuels come from (NatGeo https://www.nationalgeographic.com/science/article/carboniferous#:~:text=Carboniferous%20Swamp-,Characteristic%20of%20the%20Carboniferous%20period%20(from%20about%20360%20million%20to,Western%20Europe%20and%20North%20America).

Permian-

Pangea is formed and climate shifts from cold to hot and dry.

Triassic-

There were dinosaurs on land, in seas and skies.

Jurassic-

Humid warm climate made living more desirable for more diverse dinosaurs, a lot more organisms thriving.

Cretaceous-

More movement in the plate tectonics caused mountain land masses to form. This constant changing environment contributed to the extinction of the dinosaurs.

Paleogene-

New species including mammals started to emerge.

Neogene-

Primates, woolly mammoths, saber toothed cats and others appear while land bridges make it easier for the animals to migrate.
