Harmannus Kolkema

I was born in Drenthe, Netherlands, and raised in Groningen. A few years after emigrating to Canada, I returned to the Netherlands to study. It was then when I joined my first band, Armada, as their bass player. We did covers of popular bands and won a Battle of the Bands competition in the City of Groningen. After returning to Canada, I joined my second band in Victoria. Amazon Grace performed in clubs in Victoria, with a mix of covers and original songs written by Paul Manktelow (Guitar). Other Amazon Grace members were Dave Kidd (Drums) and Doug Goddard (Vocals). The band dissolved after we played a club in Prince Rupert, BC, the first stop of our mini tour of BC. The hotel we played at burned to the ground after our first night there!

I quit playing, but always missed it.

Many years had passed, and when Ten Tall Trees was looking for a bassist, I jumped at the chance to play bass again. I've been playing bass with Ten Tall Trees for over 14 years now.
