Band

The name of the band was inspired by ten tall trees that stood on the property where Hendrik A. Reitsma and Hendrik B. Reitsma had built the Rock Shack, where the first two albums were recorded.

In case you're curious, both Hendriks are first cousins. Their fathers were brothers who had emigrated from Friesland, Netherlands. Harmannus Kolkema joined the band in 2004, shortly after the Hendriks moved to Victoria. Harmannus was born in the Netherlands.

We live and play in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, but between us we also have a very strong connection to the Netherlands, Friesland and Groningen in particular.
