I don’t completely know what I want to do as a career but I think I want to try and be an electrician. When I was younger I always wanted to become a professional athlete but as I got older I realized how hard it would be to actually accomplish that goal. Then my dad ended up going part time at his job and then spent more time with his electrical for which he used to just do as side jobs. Then as he did more jobs I started to go to more of them and slowly started to learn more and more about what you have to do. Then at this time I think it was around 2021, so I was about 11 years old and I think that was the time when I realized maybe this could be my future career. I still haven't decided if that's what I want to do for sure but it sure is one of the top options and I’m still trying to be a good athlete just in case that could come true.
I have not yet taken any classes to help me with my electrician career but I plan to take electric wiring when I'm able to. Next year I will take it as an option if I can but I don't know if I will be able to because it wasn’t an option this year for atex. I will say going to jobs with my dad is kind of like a class because sometimes I can’t do much so I just watch and learn so hopefully I will remember that stuff when I start. So far the tech center hasn’t helped much because I have only been here for a week but when I'm able to the class for wiring it would help me out a lot because I can learn more and do what I want to do.
If you want to count sports as extracurricular activities then yes and I have learned a lot of things from it. One of the things I have learned from the sport I play is teamwork, because in every team sport if you don’t have good teamwork then you're just not a good team. Some activities that I have done outside of school that support my future career. Just me going to jobs with my dad and just watching helps a lot but when I’m able to do things at the job it’s even better because I learn more than just watching. I have had one job and that job taught me that it’s going to be hard and that I have to make sure I pick a job that I like because if I don’t then it's going to be a lot harder and it just wouldn’t be fun.
Once I graduate I don’t know for sure what I will do but I’m leaning towards getting a scalar ship and going to a nice college out of the state. I want to leave the state because I lived in Maryland my whole life and I would like to go out and explore more. I might not get a scalar ship or maybe not a very great one so I might join the military to get the price lower so I won’t be in debt from college. I might not even go to college. I might just leave high school and go straight into the work force and if I do then I would want to do a job where I can travel because again it would be nice to see more of the world.
If I become an electrician I would be able to help people in my community and make the houses and other things livable for the people in it. This would make the society better because people wouldn’t be too cold or too hot and happy people means a good society. I don’t think that I would have a big impact on the world but I would have a big impact with the people in my community by trying to help them out. I wouldn’t have a negative impact on the world but it wouldn’t be positive because I can’t help out everyone in the world but I will try to help who ever I can and whenever I’m needed.
