POLYESTER STRINGS: For massive spin and control.

'Polys' are the most popular strings in today's game. Either as a full set or as part of a 'hybrid' setup with synthetic gut or multi-filament

# Luxilon Alu Power or Luxilon Alu Power Rough  £37 per racket

The most popular string on the ATP and WTA Tours. Used by Federer, Djokovic, Andy Murray, Juan Martin Del Potro, Gael Monfils, Marin Cillic, Gregor Dimitrov, Richard Gasquet, Simona Halep and many more. It is Luxilon's most popular string with the biggest share in both the pro and amateur markets. Big Banger Alu Power gives both performance and accuracy to every stroke. The string produces great spin and retains tension without loss of performance. At the same time it is extremely tear proof thanks to the blend of poly and aluminium fibres. It is unmatched in playability and stability and considered the best string out there by many pro players.

#Babolat RPM Blast  & Babolat RPM Blast Rough       £34 per racket  

Used by Rafael Nadal since 2010 to win dozens of tournaments. Babolat RPM Blast is a high-performance string made of co-polyester. The octagonal cross section ensures extreme spin transmission and a unique feel. High acceleration and a sensitive touch make this string a real weapon on the Pro tour.  Rafael Nadal, Dominic Thiem, Stan Wawrinka, Jo-Wilfred Tsonga, Samantha Stosur plus many other ATP and WTA tour players all rely on RPM Blast. Tecnifibre Black Code is a soft co-polyester that uses the latest thermacore technology from Tecnifibre. Thanks to its pentagonal shape and softer composition Black Code produces massive spin without excessive strain on the arm. One of Tecnifibre's most popular tennis strings. Used by ATP and WTA Tour players.

#Yonex Poly Tour Pro  £30 per racket

Yonex's most popular tennis string. Poly Tour Pro string is designed to last many hours of arm-friendly play. #Solinco Hyper-G   £30 per racket - NEW STRING IN STOCK - green is the new black!!

Probably the most popular tennis string on the market at the current time. Solinco are an American sports company that is gaining market share in the tennis sector. This high performance, versatile co-poly string, offers playability and control whilst still generating extreme power and incredible spin and bite. Using a newly developed chemical formula, this string has the great crisp feel of Tour Bite, whilst still remaining comfortable. A great all-rounder that will suit a large range of players. The distinctive green colour is proving extremely popular.

#Pro's Pro Intense Heat.  £28 per racket  (My favourite soft poly string - gentler on the wrist/elbow/shoulder)

Tecnifibre Synthetic Gut is a quality string that offers playability and durability. A centre core wrapped with single mono-filaments ensures the string is more hard wearing than most synthetic gut whilst providing great control. The Tecnifibre brand was founded in 1979 and is focused on producing strings, rackets and related products of the highest quality. Made in France. This string is great as a full set but it also works really well as the cross string in a hybrid set up with polyester mains - e.g. RPM Blast, Tecnifibre Black Code, Pro's Pro Blackout etc.

#Pro's Pro Aramid Spin.  £28 per racket

This is another string designed for frequent string breakers. It combines polyester with super strong aramid fibres. The thin co-polymer core is wrapped with aramid fibres and a further layer of fine synthetic filaments, completing the construction. It is designed to be used as a full set rather than a hybrid. If durability and playability is what you seek then give these strings a try.  Gauge 1.30 mm  Colour: Natural 

HYBRID STRINGING

The most popular restring at the moment is the 'hybrid'. This is when you have different strings for the mains and crosses. This will change the profile of the playing characteristics - feel / power / control versus using a single string. Most of the pro players use some variation of hybrid stringing. 

The standard hybrid setup = stiffer string in the mains + softer string in the crosses. e.g. Polyester mains + synthetic gut crosses. This is the most popular version of the hybrid and is the most durable. The 'reverse' hybrid has the softer strings in the mains and the stiffer strings in the crosses. This is the least durable option. 

You can mix any type / thickness / colour of string - the combinations are many. The 'hybrid' is just a suggestion. Many players of all standards still use a single string in their rackets.
