Summer vacations in India are that perfect time of the year when schools are closed, temperatures rise, and families crave a refreshing escape from the daily routine. It's that magical window between mid-May and early July when every household dreams of travel, togetherness, and new memories. Just like thousands of other families, we too decided — this summer, we'll do something different. And oh, what a decision it turned out to be.
A Family Trip in the Lap of the Himalayas
With the kids finally free from their studies and the grown-ups ready for a break from city life, we unanimously chose Uttarakhand as our destination. This land of natural beauty, holy shrines, and adventure was calling us. We wanted to make this a week-long escape to rejuvenate our minds and souls — a complete blend of spirituality, serenity, and thrill.
But there was just one big challenge: How do we travel comfortably as a group without the hassle of changing taxis or struggling with public transport?
That's when we discovered Malhotra World Travels and their Urbania Tempo Traveller on rent in Delhi. Trust us — this was the best decision we made for our trip!
The Ride That Made All the Difference – Urbania Tempo Traveller
As soon as we contacted Malhotra World Travels, their team was super responsive and professional. They understood our requirements, the number of passengers, and the type of travel experience we were looking for. Without any delay, they suggested their brand-new Urbania Tempo Traveller on Rent in Delhi — and let us tell you, it was just what we were looking for!
Why We Loved the Urbania:
Super Spacious: With 12 pushback seats, there was enough legroom for everyone — kids could even take naps in peace.
Fully Air-Conditioned: A blessing in the scorching summer heat!
Luxury Interiors: Mood lighting, high-quality sound system, clean curtains, and ample luggage space — it felt like a mini-home on wheels.
Mobile Charging Ports: Who doesn't need their phone camera and GPS all the time?
Professional Driver: Our driver uncle was not just experienced but also very polite, punctual, and helpful throughout the journey.
From the moment we stepped inside the vehicle, we knew — this was going to be an epic ride.
Our 7-Day Itinerary – Exploring the Best of Uttarakhand
Here's how our journey unfolded — each day packed with excitement, beauty, and unforgettable memories:
Day 1: Delhi to Haridwar
We began early in the morning from Delhi and reached Haridwar by noon. We checked in, rested a bit, and then visited Har Ki Pauri for the divine Ganga Aarti in the evening. The vibe was surreal — chants, lamps floating in the river, and a magical sunset.
Day 2: Haridwar to Rishikesh
Just a short drive away, Rishikesh welcomed us with open arms. We explored Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula and indulged in some riverbank fun with the kids. The adventure lovers among us even went for river rafting — a must-try!
Day 3: Rishikesh to Mussoorie
We then made our way uphill to Mussoorie, the Queen of Hills. The journey was scenic, and thanks to our comfortable Urbania, even the winding roads didn't feel exhausting. We visited Kempty Falls Gun Hill and enjoyed the vibrant Mall Road.
Day 4: Mussoorie to Chopta
The next day, we headed to Chopta, often called the mini Switzerland of India. It was a hidden gem. With its pine forests, cool breeze, and stunning sunrise views, it gave us a peaceful break from the crowds.
Day 5: Chopta to Kedarnath Base
Early morning, we drove towards Gaurikund — the base for the Kedarnath trek. The journey through the mountains was long but breathtaking. Some of us opted for pony rides, while others trekked. Reaching Kedarnath Dham and standing in front of the holy temple was a genuinely emotional experience.
Day 6: Kedarnath to Badrinath
After a spiritual high at Kedarnath, we visited Badrinath, another jewel in the Char Dham circuit. The Badrinarayan Temple, the Tapt Kund, and the Mana Village (India's last village) — were awe-inspiring.
Day 7: Badrinath to Nainital & Return to Delhi
On the last day, we took a long ride to Nainital — the city of lakes. We ended our trip with a relaxing boat ride in Naini Lake and some souvenir shopping before heading back to Delhi, hearts full and phones full of photos!
Final Thoughts – A Journey to Remember
This trip wasn't just about sightseeing — it was about family bonding, shared laughter, spiritual discovery, and adventure. And none of this would have been smooth without the incredible support and transport provided by Malhotra World Travels.
Whether it was the comfort of the Urbania, the courteous driver, the punctual pick-ups and drop-offs, or the hassle-free coordination — everything was spot-on. We could focus on enjoying the journey without any stress about logistics.
So, if you're also planning an outstation family trip from Delhi — be it for summer vacation, a pilgrimage, or to escape the chaos of city life — we highly recommend Malhotra World Travels' Urbania Tempo Traveller in Delhi. It's affordable, luxurious, and perfect for group travel.
