Everyone needs a break once in a while—some time away from the daily hustle and chaos of city life. Luckily, my friends and I had a golden opportunity recently when we had five days off. Without wasting much time, we decided to plan an adventurous hill trip to Shimla and Manali. But the big question was: how do we go comfortably?
Searching for the Best Way to Travel from Delhi
We began exploring various travel options—trains, buses, and taxis—but nothing seemed suitable for a large group of friends. Either the rides were uncomfortable, the routes were inflexible, or the booking process was too complicated. We wanted to travel together, laugh together, and enjoy every bit of the road journey, too. That's when we found MWT (Malhotra World Travels) online. And let me tell you, choosing MWT was the best decision we made!
Why MWT Made All the Difference
MWT is one of the most trusted travel companies in Delhi, providing Tempo Traveller hire services for outstation trips to destinations such as Shimla, Manali, Nainital, Mussoorie, and more. We contacted them, and their team was super helpful. They guided us about the best vehicle size for our group, shared pictures of their fleet, and arranged a luxurious Tempo Traveller on Hire in Delhi with push-back seats, charging points, AC/heater, and even a music system. Our driver, bhaiya, was also very professional and polite and knew all the hill routes very well.
Day 1: Journey Begins – Delhi to Shimla
We started early in the morning from Delhi, full of excitement. As we moved out of the city, the roads got more scenic. Lush greenery, winding streets, and fresh mountain air—everything started setting the mood.
We stopped at roadside dhabas for tea and breakfast, clicked pictures, played music, and created fun reels and vlogs on the way. Our Tempo Traveller ride was super comfortable, and that made the long road journey feel like a breeze.
By evening, we reached Shimla, the Queen of Hills. We checked into our hotel and went straight to Mall Road. Shimla was aglow with lights and a cool vibe. We tried local snacks, bought some woolens, and had fun exploring the local market. The day ended with hot chocolate and a lot of laughter in our rooms.
Day 2: Exploring Shimla – Colonial Charm & Kufri Adventure
After breakfast, we started our Shimla sightseeing tour. Our Tempo Traveller was parked right outside, ready to take us wherever we wanted—first stop – Jakhoo Temple, followed by the historic Christ Church, and then off to Kufri.
Kufri was a total adventure zone. We did horse riding, saw snow-covered landscapes, and enjoyed rides at the amusement park. Sumit and I took our vlogging to the next level here—recording every moment with a GoPro and DSLR. The views were surreal, and we couldn't help but keep clicking photos.
By late afternoon, we had lunch at a cozy hilltop café and returned to Mall Road for some relaxed evening shopping. That night, we sat around a bonfire and shared stories—it felt like a scene from a movie.
Day 3: Off to Manali – The Road to Paradise
The next day, we left early for Manali, excited for the next part of our journey. The route from Shimla to Manali via Kullu is breathtaking. We passed through beautiful valleys, apple orchards, and riverbeds.
We stopped at the Kullu Valley for some river rafting and shopping for woolen goods. We also visited a shawl factory and tried Himachali caps! Throughout the journey, the Tempo Traveller kept us cozy—we even watched a movie inside while driving through the hills.
We arrived in Manali in the evening, checked into our hotel near Mall Road, and enjoyed a delicious dinner with a stunning view of the snow-capped mountains.
Day 4: Manali Sightseeing – Solang Valley & Old Manali Vibes
Manali was pure magic! After breakfast, we departed for Solang Valley, one of the most thrilling spots for adventure enthusiasts. Snow was everywhere. We tried skiing, snow biking, and even rode the cable car for panoramic views.
Sumit and I recorded everything—we captured drone shots, took slow-motion videos, and created some epic content for our Instagram and YouTube channels.
Later in the day, we visited the Hidimba Devi Temple, took more pictures in traditional Himachali dresses, and explored the Old Manali cafés in the evening. The cozy cafés, chill vibes, and guitar music made us feel like we were in another world.
That night was special—we sat under the stars near a bonfire, reliving childhood memories, sharing dreams, and promising to plan more trips like this.
Day 5: Saying Goodbye – Back to Delhi
Our hearts were heavy as we packed our bags. The trip had given us so many memories, so many laughs, and a bond that grew stronger. But it was time to head back.
The return journey was peaceful. Some of us slept, some watched movies, while others continued to discuss the best parts of the trip. We reached Delhi by late evening, tired but full of happiness.
