Experiences at the Farms
4Hers learn about different aspects of caring for livestock and get hands on experience:
Nutrition
Lambing preparation and care
Stall cleaning and maintenance
Screening for gastrointestinal (GI) parasites
Assisting with and administering oral medication and shots
Assisting with and administering vaccinations
Tail docking, ear tagging, and castration
Inspecting and trimming hooves
Shearing
Ear cleaning
Wool processing and products
Moving herds to different locations on the property
Business aspects of producing and marketing meat and wool products
Learning traits of specific breeds

Club Experience
Monthly Business Meetings - Members from all farms meet to discuss and vote on different topics.
Opportunities to meet members at other farms
Listen to guest speakers
Listen to club members' presentations and present on a topic yourself
Gain experience as a Junior or Senior officer
Participate on a committee (Fundraising, Public Service, and Education)
Mini-Lamb Camp - Overnight trip with team builders and educational classes

Loudoun County Fair
By June 1, members choose a project animal to work with in preparation for the Loudoun County Fair held in July. Our members patriciate in the Showmanship Show and the Temple Hall Breed Show. They also work on a project book to document their experiences.
